- Maintaining close knowledge of maintenance, condition and operation of the vessels, in order to ensure that vessels are operating efficiently and in accordance with Class and Statutory rules, as well as Company's instructions and requirements especially in matters regarding safety and environment protection.
- Planning and preparing budgets and specifications of all major repairs and dry-dockings in co-operation with the Operations Manager. Monitoring, co-ordinating and arranging for all technical backup of such repairs and dry-dockings and ensure that these are completed within agreed time and cost margins.
- Monitoring and evaluating the daily and long-term Technical performance of the ships and to initiate corrective actions, when such performance does not meet with Company’s standards.
- Reviewing and evaluating all technical problems, defects and breakdowns reported to the office and follow up. Ensuring that vessels are inspected by the Company's representatives and evaluate all feedback information received from such inspections. Also planning and follow up renewals / updating of classification and statutory certificates.
- Verifying that the Company’s Policies, Procedures and instructions are effectively implemented and followed onboard the Company’s ships especially with regards to vessel’s maintenance activities.
- Analysing all requisitions for engine spares, negotiating prices, placing orders, supervising deliveries, verifying invoices and good performance and satisfactory service from the suppliers. Also approving engine stores purchasing.
